Store manager Yun’s commitment and stories about Otsuka city and customers.
I’ve been here for many yearsOtsukain the land ofYakinikuAs the manager of the store “Jan”, I have interacted with countless customers.
Although the city of Otsuka is in the heart of the city, it retains a bit of a downtown atmosphere, and its appeal is that people are close to each other. On weekend lunchtimes, customers of all ages come to visit us, from families with strollers, to elderly couples who have lived in Otsuka for many years, to couples enjoying a holiday date. Our restaurant has 32 seats, including a sunken kotatsu seat where you can relax and stretch your legs, making it a space where everyone can relax.
One weekend, a customer with his family said to me with a smile, “Eating the meat here will help me get through another week.” Those words are my driving force, as I do not allow any compromise when it comes to the selection and preparation of meat. I feel that it is my mission to serve meat in the best condition for the smiles of our customers.
Recommended for Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays! Otsuka “Jan”‘s exquisite Yakiniku lunch menu
Here we would like to introduce some of our popular menu items that you should try during your weekend lunchtime.
In addition, our storeYakinikuAll lunches come with rice, soup, and a drink, and you can order a large serving of rice for free. Even those who want to eat their fill will be satisfied.
The royal and supreme “Wagyu beef short rib lunch”
The first thing I would like to introduce to you is the Wagyu Kalbi Lunch, which is available for 1,100 yen.
Kalbi, which allows you to fully enjoy the flavor and sweetness of Kuroge Wagyu beef, goes perfectly with rice. The sound of meat grilling, the aromatic smell, and the sweetness of high-quality fat that spreads the moment you put it in your mouth will make your holiday lunch special.
“Stamina lunch” created by thorough preparation
The “Stamina Lunch”, which can also be enjoyed for 1,100 yen, is also highly recommended for recharging your energy on the weekend. This is a hearty set that includes miso tongue, offal, and heart.
What I would like you to pay particular attention to is “Hatsu”. Generally, many shops use the blood vessels and skin as they are, but at our shop, we use our years of expertise to thoroughly trim (remove) the blood vessels and skin. This time-consuming and time-consuming preparation process ensures that there is no odor and you can simply enjoy the crispy and pleasant texture.
“Jan’s Stewed Beef Bowl” and “Awase Mori”, a taste of passion simmered for 5 hours
For those who don’t feel like grilling yakiniku themselves today, but still want to eat delicious meat, we recommend the 900 yen “Jan’s Stewed Beef Bowl” or the 1,000 yen “Awase Mori”.
In fact, this menu is made by slowly simmering various cuts of Japanese black beef and beef sinew that are used during the preparation process for a whopping 5 hours. The long simmering process makes the meat incredibly tender and melts in your mouth. Once you try it, you will definitely become addicted to the deep flavor of the Wagyu beef.
Commitment to meat cutting and secret seasoning
deliciousYakinikuIn order to provide quality meat, it is not enough to simply purchase quality meat. The “cutting” technique, which involves identifying the fibers of the meat and inserting the knife at the optimal thickness and angle for each part, greatly influences the flavor. Taking advantage of my many years of experience working with meat as a store manager, I carefully hand-cut each piece of meat, even for lunch, without cutting any corners.
We are also very particular about the garnishes that go with the meat. For example, “Negimori Haruyama” was created by refining a secret recipe learned from a fellow Yakiniku restaurant. It is a masterpiece made with green onions and perilla leaves mixed with a secret sauce, and we named it “Haruyama” because it gives you the refreshing flavor of spring. It goes perfectly with wagyu beef, and when served with yakiniku for lunch, it’s a magical garnish that allows you to eat as many pieces of meat as you want.
