Otsuka Yakiniku Jan Blog

We also offer all-you-can-drink orders for single items (a la carte).

This is Yoon, the store manager. Hello everyone. Thank you very much for your continued patronage of Otsuka’s Yakiniku restaurant “Jan”.

[Otsuka city and seasonal changes]

The seasons change really quickly, and Otsuka’s appearance changes little by little every day. Although Otsuka is next to Ikebukuro, it still retains a nostalgic downtown atmosphere. While the area in front of the station is undergoing redevelopment and the number of new hotels and stylish cafes is increasing, the nostalgic scenery of the old shopping street and the Toden Arakawa Line that rattles along still coexists. I am proud every day to be able to deliver delicious meat and smiles to everyone in this vibrant city where old and new intersect.

After passing through the rotary in front of the station and walking a little, you will find our shop “Jan” among a variety of restaurants. The moment you open the door, you can smell the aroma of grilled meat and the happy laughter of customers. This is the space I value above all else. During my busy days, I suddenly“I want to eat as much yakiniku as I can today!” “I want to drink delicious alcohol to my heart’s content!”I’m sure there are nights when you think about it. Every day, all of the staff at “Jan” prepare to welcome you with all their heart, hoping to be a place where you can fully satisfy your heart and stomach.

■“Single item (a la carte) order all-you-can-drink”About■

Well, as the title of today’s blog says, we are happy to announce that we are also offering all-you-can-drink items 😃, as well as another announcement.

Have you ever been to a yakiniku restaurant and thought, “A course meal is nice, but today I feel like I want to choose a little bit of the meat that I like and drink a lot of alcohol to match that.”
Actually, when I am standing in the store, many customers ask me“Can I get all-you-can-drink unless I order a course?” “I’d like to order the meat separately, but I drink a lot of alcohol, so I’d like to have the all-you-can-drink option, right?”We often hear this from you.

In order to meet the hot demands of everyone, “Jan” offers an “all-you-can-drink” service that you can enjoy without ordering a course meal!

This all-you-can-drink (2-hour system, last order 90 minutes, 2,200 yen per person) is a great value plan that allows you to enjoy a wide variety of drinks to your heart’s content, starting with draft beer, highballs, various sours, makgeolli, and of course soft drinks.
Starting with “Let’s have a toast with some draft beer!”, to a refreshing highball that cleanses away the fat from the meat, to sweet and sour sours that are very popular among women, and even makgeolli, a staple of Korean yakiniku, you can freely enjoy pairing alcohol to match your mood that day and the meat you order.
This all-you-can-drink option is very popular among customers who want to relieve their fatigue from work, especially on weekends.

[The best pairing with “Jan”‘s proud meat]

We would like to introduce some of Jan’s special menu items that you should try together when using the all-you-can-drink option. At our restaurant, we never compromise on the freshness and quality of our meat.
Utilizing my many years of experience, I am responsible for everything from daily purchasing to careful hand-cutting.

First of all, it is essential to start Yakiniku.Upper tongue saltis. The high-quality tongue is cut to just the right thickness and is quickly grilled on a wire rack, then served with our special lemon sauce. The flavor of the meat that spreads in your mouth and the refreshing acidity of the lemon go perfectly with the cold draft beer.

Next up is the King of Yakiniku.“Wagyu beef short ribs”is. The Wagyu beef short ribs, with their wonderful marbling, make a delicious sound and melt the fat as soon as they are placed on the grill.
The secret to the deliciousness of Jan’s yakiniku lies in the secret sauce, which was developed through years of research. The fruity sweetness and richness of the miso soup infuses each fiber of the meat with its flavor, and the aroma of the scorching aroma is like magic that makes the alcoholic beverage go better.
Please try pairing this with a crisply chilled highball or a slightly sweet makgeolli. The carbonic acid refreshes the rich flavor of the meat, and you’ll be able to use your chopsticks endlessly.

For those who want to fully enjoy the flavor of lean meat,“Top Harami”We strongly recommend. The unique soft and melting texture of skirt steak and the juicy meat that flows out the more you bite into it, it is one of our signature menu items that regular customers say, “I definitely order this when I come to Jan.” I think adults can enjoy the strong taste of meat by pairing it with a rich lemon sour or red wine.

When I’m happy at work

I would like to introduce one of the wonderful stories that happened at the restaurant as a result of this all-you-can-drink menu.
It was last Friday night. Four customers came to our store in suits after work, looking a little tired. “I’ve been really busy and tired this week, so I just want to drink a lot and eat some delicious meat!” said one of our leading customers. Therefore, I proposed an all-you-can-drink option where you can freely choose the meat at your own pace.

After a grand toast with draft beer, the customers ordered the previously introduced “jotan shio”, “jojo harami”, and the fresh “hormone platter” one after another.
As the drinks were being refilled, the tension and fatigue from work quickly disappeared from everyone’s faces, and instead, the table was filled with big smiles and happy laughter.
When I received a warm comment from a customer on the way home, saying, “Yun-san, the combination of skirt steak and beer here is really energizing! You can have all-you-can-drink items, so we can drink at our own pace, which is really helpful.” When I heard a warm word from a customer on the way home, I felt really glad that I was doing this job.
It was a night where our customers were reminded once again that delicious meat and alcohol have the amazing power to soothe people’s minds and bodies and give them energy for the future.

[A finishing dish packed with specialties]

After enjoying the meat and alcohol to your heart’s content, the last thing you should order is the “homemade cold noodles,” which are synonymous with “Jan.”
After drinking and eating a lot, these cold noodles are surprisingly gentle on your stomach. The clear soup, made by slowly simmering beef bones and other ingredients for hours to remove the scum, is refreshing yet deeply rich, and is so delicious that you’ll want to drink it down to the last drop.

Our cold noodles are characterized by their smooth texture and strong chewiness. If you like, you can add a little more vinegar to make it even more refreshing. This cold noodle will cool down your body after you get hot from the all-you-can-drink menu, so don’t forget to order it as a finishing dish when you visit.

■We look forward to your visit■

We value hospitality so that everyone can have a comfortable time in any situation, whether it’s a large party such as a welcome/farewell party or a New Year’s party, a small drinking party with friends, a date with a couple, or a person who wants to enjoy a drink alone at the counter today.

My greatest joy as a store manager is to be able to meet people’s smiles and say, “It’s delicious!” in the warm city of Otsuka. When you’re hungry, when you want to drink as much delicious alcohol as you can, or when you want to recharge your energy for tomorrow, please open the door of “Jan” in Otsuka. We look forward to your visit, offering the finest meat, ice-cold drinks, and a relaxing, homely atmosphere.
